The
California Wave are part of the Southern California
Amateur Hockey Association and the California Amateur
Hockey Association. We compete within SCAHA, CAHA and
in tournaments throughout the United States and Canada.
This site is maintained and operated by the club to provide information to our
members and players.
The California Wave is one of Southern Californias
most prestigious and successful youth hockey programs.
Since our inception in 1997 our program focuses on providing
the most advanced level of player development through
the experience of a highly talented coaching staff. The
Wave teams participate in local, national and international
amateur sports competition exposing our players to the
highest level of hockey available. The Wave is an established
and internationally recognized club and our players are
being developed and exposed in areas which will allow
them to advance to the Junior A and Collegiate ranks.
"The Mission of the California
Wave Hockey club is to provide youth hockey players with a high
level of personal development, both in terms of on-ice performance
as hockey players and off-ice development as citizens."
From our by-laws:
The specific purpose of the Club is to advance national and international amateur
sports competition through the promotion of junior hockey activities to (1) advance
the development and sportsmanship of children and adults; (2) provide an educational
format through hockey to improve the health of the bodies and minds of children
and young adults; (3) combat juvenile delinquency by advancing amateur athletics
as an alternative to less constructive behavior; (4) and promote good sportsmanship,
respect for the individual, integrity, pursuit of excellence at the individual,
team and Club levels, enjoyment, loyalty and teamwork.
The Club does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, religion,
or sexual preference, and does not tolerate physical abuse or sexual abuse in
any form whatsoever. The Club does not engage in any activities or exercise any
powers that are not in furtherance of these objectives. |
